A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far away, Naboo was under an attack...

But more recently, in a galaxy closer to home, Ellen Porteous started a cafe.

Having travelled the length of the country by Megabus, taking few supplies and only a second hand iPod mini filled with 90's classics for company, she ate and drank in all the cafes, bars and restaurants she could muster.

She ate, and she drank and she ate some more and by God, did she drink...

Until she was filled with all the inspiration she needed to start her own cafe closer to home, within the rolling hills of Somerset, where she could kip at mum and dad's and have her washing done for free.

It was here that she enlisted the help of fellow Fromies sharing the same passion for eating and drinking, and more eating, and more serious drinking...

And so, The River House was born, and this friendly bunch of cafe fanatics have been rocking the joint ever since

Ellen
