The River House is a small but mighty, family run café and bar open 7 days a week plus evenings from Tuesdays through Saturdays for dinner and cocktails. Open for less than 2 years, we have fast become a popular destination in Frome and are keen to continue the success of the café whilst developing the business model.
We are employing a General Manager who is passionate about the industry, well organised, motivated and able to lead a team to café victory!
You will be able to work in a high-pressure, high-turnover environment, whilst delivering consistently excellent service. You will also be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Core skills and responsibilities:
- A positive attitude
- A love for coffee and the service industry
- Solid experience in running a fast paced cafe or restaurant
- Stock taking and rotation
- Cleaning and hygiene, fire procedures, and health & safety
- Cash handling, banking & change orders
- Social media development
- Working closely with the kitchen to deliver exciting menus
- Sales monitoring, reports and till programming
- Specialist coffee service and sales
- Staff management and training
- Staff meetings
- Staff socials
Our shop has grown from our relationships we have with people living and working locally in the area so we are looking for personalities as much as experience for this role.
The café is part of an established business that is wanting to continually grow and adapt to a constantly changing modern clientele and as such there is opportunity for the General Manager to apply his/her own mark in terms of helping the owner lead the café into the future, develop the business and importantly to increase footfall.
